Comanche Park Campground sits in an open ponderosa pine forest 6.5 miles west of Custer, South Dakota, in the southern Black Hills National Forest. It is the closest forest campground to Jewel Cave National Monument. The spacious, shaded sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided on site, but electrical hookups are not available. Nearby attractions include Black Elk Peak, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Monument, and Wind Cave National Park.

All 0.4 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Gravel the whole way in (0.4 miles).

Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 35-site campground. Night skies measure Bortle 2 -- true dark-sky territory. The nearest town, Custer, is 5.5 mi off.
