Setting
Positioned along the southern shore of Cowanesque Lake in the Endless Mountains region, Lawrence Recreation Area is a day-use facility focused on waterfront activities. The terrain features open fields and rolling forests that connect to the long-distance Mid State Trail. On-site amenities include the accessible Cayuga Shelter for large group picnicking, alongside shoreline access for fishing and boating. Additional fishing access points are available at the nearby North and South Tailrace areas below the dam.
Getting there: From US 15 South, take the Lawrenceville Exit. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right onto State Route 49. Recreation Area will be on the right approxmately 4 miles. From US 15 North, take the Lawrenceville exit. At the bottom of the ramp turn left. Recreation area will be on the right approximately 5 miles.
