Setting
Bear Springs Campground sits at an elevation of 3,000 feet on the southeastern edge of Mt. Hood National Forest. Set within a dense canopy of pine and fir trees, the facility features single-family campsites, larger group sites, and a day-use area with a picnic shelter. Individual sites come equipped with a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill. Standard infrastructure includes vault toilets, drinking water spigots, and dirt-and-gravel parking spurs. Local forest roads provide direct access to hiking, off-highway vehicle routes, and nearby rafting on the Deschutes River.
Getting there: From Sandy: Travel east on Highway 26 for 48 miles to the Highway 26/I-216 junctions. Turn left onto I-216 and travel east for 4 and 1/4 miles. Turn Right at Bear Springs campground.
