This 1,680-acre park along the Willamette River near Gervais features eight miles of riparian hiking trails, historic mission ruins dating to 1834, and one of the largest black cottonwood trees in the U.S. The park provides river access via the Wheatland Ferry crossing and preserves the site of Reverend Jason Lee's mission established to convert Native Americans to Christianity. A ghost structure marks the original mission's location, damaged by an 1861 flood.
