Setting
Fox Creek Group Camp is a large, open site surrounded by dense forest at 1,700 feet elevation, located a short walk from the Breitenbush River. The site accommodates groups up to 75 with space for tents, RVs, and trailers of any size. Facilities include accessible vault toilets, campfire rings, picnic tables, and a dumpster, though no drinking water is provided. The camp serves as a hub for hiking into the nearby Mount Jefferson Wilderness and the surrounding Willamette National Forest, with fishing for rainbow trout and swimming available in the adjacent river.
Getting there: From Detroit, Oregon, drive east on State Highway 22. After crossing the bridge, take a left onto Forest Service Road (FSR) 46/Breitenbush. Follow FSR 46 for about 6.5 miles to Fox Creek Group Camp.
