Setting
Lost Prairie Group Site is a converted campground in the Cascade Mountains along the Over the Rivers and Through the Woods Scenic Byway, with Hackleman Creek running along its rear border. Situated at 3,600 feet, the site accommodates up to 75 people and includes four paved back-in vehicle sites (up to 42 feet), six former walk-in tent spots, and a paved parking lot for up to six RVs. Amenities include picnic tables, fire pits, vault toilets, and a hand-pump well. Located 15 minutes from Clear Lake and the McKenzie River National Scenic Trail, it sits where a 19th-century wagon scouting party once lost its way.
