Setting
Longbow Group Campground occupies 10 acres on a bend of the South Santiam River near the Menagerie Wilderness. Built without tent or trailer pads, the facility features six river-facing alpine shelters sleeping up to 48 people, a covered dining hall with a cooking fireplace, an amphitheater seating 75, a volleyball court, an accessible double vault toilet, and a hand-pump well. Visitors wade and fish in the river or explore the historic Old Santiam Wagon Road, which ran livestock across the Cascades. Parking is restricted to 12 vehicles total.
Getting there: From Sweet Home, OR, travel east on Hwy 20 for 17 miles to Road 2032. Follow Road 2032 to Longbow Organization Camp.
