Why
U.S. Forest Service opens most of its land to dispersed camping unless a local order restricts it. Check the unit's current orders before you commit.All 3.2 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles, mostly gravel with 0.1 miles of graded dirt. Climbs 80 ft over 3.2 miles through 4 switchbacks, with sustained grades near 16% and pitches to 33%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~190 ft on the downhill side. Few of the stretches measured have level ground to pull onto. Dead-end road with no mapped turnaround, so expect to back out or unhitch.
