Setting
River Edge is an accessible group campground along the Alsea River in the Siuslaw National Forest, shaded by Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, and alder. The site holds up to 100 people and features an open play field, electricity, four vault toilets, drinking water, and firewood for purchase. A central covered shelter houses multiple picnic tables, grills, and a campfire ring, with a second fire ring outside. The river offers swimming, canoeing, and salmon and trout fishing. The coastal town of Waldport is 25 minutes away, and Mary's Peak sits higher in the range.
Getting there: From Waldport, head east on Highway 34 for about 26 miles and look for campground signs on the right.
