Whittaker Creek Recreation Site sits along the Siuslaw River in Oregon's Coast Range, featuring 30 tent campsites, vault toilets, hand-pump drinking water, picnic sites, a playground, horseshoe pit, and a paved boat ramp for drift boats and canoes. The 2.5-mile Old Growth Ridge National Recreation Trail climbs 1,000 feet into old-growth Douglas firs. A seasonal swimming beach is open June through September, and salmon spawn in the creek during fall and winter. Overnight camping is currently closed; day-use facilities remain open.
