Sutton Campground sits in a coastal forest of pine, Douglas-fir, and spruce in the Siuslaw National Forest, 1.5 miles from Sutton Beach. The site offers single-family and group campsites, including some with electric hookups, furnished with picnic tables, campfire rings, drinking water, and flush toilets. Trails lead directly from camp through sand dunes to nearby Alder Dunes and Sutton Lake. A boat ramp two miles away accesses Sutton Lake for yellow perch and trout fishing, while the Holman Vista viewing platform sits one mile west.
All 2.2 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Paved the whole way in (2.2 miles).
Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.2 miles off, an 80-site campground. Most of them shaded. Sutton Lake lies 0.4 mi off. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. Cape Mountain stands 1,430 ft above the site, 3.5 miles northeast. The nearest town, Heceta Beach, is 2.1 mi off.
