South Jetty Sand Camping Area offers primitive, sand-surface dispersed camping tucked into the tall coastal dunes of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, two miles south of Florence. Access is restricted to 4X4 vehicles driving over soft sand. Sites accommodate groups of 20 to 40 people across 5 to 10 vehicles. Campers must bring drinking water, fire pans, and portable toilets, keeping all gear within 150 feet of marker posts. Off-road vehicle routes head south into open riding zones, while nearby day-use areas provide foot access to non-motorized sections of the Pacific beach.
