Rainbow Bay is a group picnic site on the shore of Lake of the Woods in Fremont National Forest, hemmed in by timbered slopes and wide sage basins. On site, the area features a beach, a boat ramp, picnic tables, extended barbecue grills, drinking water, and flush toilets. Visitors come to paddle canoes along the shoreline, swim, and fish for trout, Kokanee salmon, bass, and perch. Conifer forest trails surround the lake, with the Sky Lakes Wilderness, Mount McLoughlin, Crater Lake National Park, and the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway all nearby for day trips.
