Setting
Built in the early 1930s, Crescent Lake Guard Station is a 670-square-foot cabin set atop a hill in an open ponderosa pine stand on the eastern shore of Crescent Lake. The one-bedroom, one-bath structure includes a furnished living room with a fold-out bed, a gas wood stove, a full kitchen with a fridge and stove, and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. Outside sits a picnic table, fire grill, and horseshoe pit. A boat launch is nearby for water access, the Diamond Peak Wilderness trail is close, and Crescent Lake Resort is within walking distance for food, supplies, and boat rentals.
