Setting
Situated on a lower forested river terrace along the Illinois River, River Bench offers eight walk-in campsites reached by hiking down one of two access trails. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire pit. A vault toilet is within walking distance. The campground has no drinking water and no garbage disposal, requiring campers to pack out their trash.
Getting there: From Selma, OR, take Highway 199 to the turn for Illinois River Road 4301. Take that road approximately 7 plus miles to the campground. Parking is up above the campsites and there are trails to the sites.
