Setting
Pine Rest Campground is a tent-only facility set along the upper Metolius River beneath a coniferous forest near Black Butte. The site offers picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, and vault toilets, but has no drinking water and cannot accommodate RVs or trailers. People come here for fly-fishing in the river's clear waters for rainbow and bull trout, hiking along riverside paths, and accessing the long-distance Metolius-Windigo Trail or nearby fish hatcheries.
Getting there: From Sisters, OR: Travel 9.6 miles northwest on Highway 20, then 6.1 miles north on Forest Road 14, then 1.5 miles north on Forest Road 1419.
