Setting
Lower Canyon Creek Campground sits at the confluence of Canyon Creek and the upper Metolius River, shaded by a coniferous forest north of Black Butte. The dry campground accommodates tents, trailers, and RVs, offering vault toilets, picnic tables, and campfire rings with grills. Campers must bring their own drinking water. The setting draws fly-fishers targeting rainbow trout, bull trout, and salmon, as well as day hikers exploring riverside trails and the nearby Metolius-Windigo Trail.
Getting there: From Sisters, OR: Travel 9.6 miles northwest on Highway 20, then 2.7 miles north on Forest Road 14, then 2 miles north on Forest Road 1419, and then 3.4 miles north on Forest Road 1420. Then follow the signs to the campground.
