Imnaha Guard Station is a single-story cabin set at 3,800 feet, surrounded by old-growth conifers like Douglas-fir and ponderosa pine. The fully furnished house sleeps up to four people with a bedroom, living room, full kitchen, and a bathroom with running water, a shower, and a flush toilet. Propane powers the heater, stove, and refrigerator, and potable water runs directly from the indoor tap. Outside features a backyard picnic table and a lava-rock fireplace inside. Imnaha Springs sits just up the trail behind the cabin, and Sky Lakes Wilderness trailheads are a short drive away.

Road difficulty 3 of 5 -- a rough drive in. Recorded as maintained only for high-clearance vehicles, dirt, pitching to 10%.

Kerby Hill stands 2,813 ft above the site, 4.5 miles northeast. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. Sumpter Creek runs 0.6 mi off. The nearest town, Shady Cove, is 26 mi off.

September normals 4775°F, 1.3″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
