Setting
Millpond Pavilion sits at 1,170 feet in the Cascade Mountain foothills along Rock Creek, just west of the Umpqua National Forest. The site features a large covered picnic shelter that fits up to 200 people, equipped with a stone fireplace, long serving counter, sink, electrical outlets, drinking water, and two barbecue grills. Adjacent amenities include a flat grassy sports field, horseshoe pits, a playground, and a 1-mile interpretive trail traversing an old lumber mill site. Water sports and fishing are accessible five miles away on the North Umpqua River.
Getting there: From Roseburg, travel east on Highway 138 for 22 miles. Turn left (north) on Rock Creek Road and proceed 5 miles. Campground is on the right.
