Carter Lake Campground sits on the shore of 28-acre Carter Lake within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, surrounded by shore pine, Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, and rhododendron. The campground features paved parking aprons, picnic tables, campfire pits, drinking water, and flush toilets. Water access supports canoeing, kayaking, and trout fishing, while the Carter Dunes Trailhead originates directly within the grounds. The surrounding terrain features sand dunes reaching up to 500 feet, with non-motorized trails and Pacific Ocean beaches a short drive away.
