Setting
West South Twin Campground sits on a pine-edged peninsula between South Twin Lake and Wickiup Reservoir in the Deschutes National Forest. The site features an on-site boat launch opening onto Wickiup Reservoir, an area known for abundant trout and salmon fishing. Campsites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, with each space outfitted with a picnic table and campfire ring. Flush toilets are located on site. Local terrain includes sandy beaches, rocky slopes, and nearby wetlands, with easy access to regional hiking trails and the subterranean Lava River Cave.
Getting there: From Bend, travel 26.8 miles south on Hwy 97 to Wickiup Junction, then 11.0 miles west on County Road 43, then continue 4.6 miles west on Forest Road 42, and finally 2.0 miles south on Forest Road 4260.
