Setting
Ogden Group Campground sits along Paulina Creek in central Oregon's high desert within Deschutes National Forest. The site features two large group areas equipped with picnic tables, vault toilets, and drinking water, designed to hold large gatherings or up to 350 total campers if both areas are combined. The Peter Skene Ogden National Scenic Trail connects directly from camp, running 8.5 miles along the creek and its waterfalls up to Paulina Lake. Nearby attractions include Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Paulina Peak, Lava River Cave, and the Lava Lands Visitor Center.
Getting there: From Bend, drive south on Highway 97 for 22 miles. Head east on Road 21 (Paulina Lake Road)for 3 miles. Ogden Group is on the left. From LaPine, drive north on Highway 97 for 6.8 miles. Head east on Road 21 (Paulina Lake Road) for 3 miles. Ogden Group is on the left.
