Setting
Located on North Twin Lake—a shallow volcanic explosion crater formed 20,000 years ago—this campground sits north of South Twin Resort among ponderosa pines and old-growth forest. It accommodates tents, trailers, and RVs with picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and vault toilets, though campers must bring drinking water. An RV dump station is located at neighboring Gull Point. Visitors come for swimming at the small beach, non-motorized boating, fishing, and hiking Twin Lakes Trail #5.1. Newberry National Volcanic Monument is roughly 45 minutes away.
Getting there: From Bend, OR: Travel 26.8 miles south on Highway 97 to Wickiup Junction, then 11.0 miles west on County Road 43, then continue 4.6 miles west on County Road 42, and finally 0.2 miles south on County Road 4260.
