McKay Crossing Campground sits along Paulina Creek in Newberry National Volcanic Monument. The stream splits the facility into two loops, housing 15 total sites that accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs without hookups or drinking water. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, and vault toilets serve the campground. A short walking path leads to a nearby waterfall, while wetlands to the west draw local birdlife. Nearby recreation includes the 8.5-mile Peter Skene Ogden Trail along Paulina Creek, the Crater Rim Trail, and boating at Paulina and East lakes.

Getting there: From Bend, OR: Travel about 23.5 miles south on Highway 97 then 3 miles east on County Road 21 (Paulina Lake Road) until you see the sign for McKay Crossing at FS road 2120. Travel a few miles on this sometimes washboard dirt road to reach the campground.
