Setting
Little Lava Lake Campground sits at 4,740 feet on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Range under a canopy of lodgepole pines. Located along the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway, the campsites border the 130-acre lake and the headwaters of the Deschutes River. Facilities include a boat ramp and day-use area, providing access for swimming, paddling, and fishing for rainbow trout, brook trout, whitefish, and tui chub. The shoreline features lava outcroppings and bull rushes, with extensive Deschutes National Forest trail networks and wilderness areas located nearby.
Getting there: From Bend, travel 38.4 miles southwest on Cascade Lakes Hwy (46), then 0.7 miles east on Forest Road 4600 500, and then 0.4 miles east on Forest Road 4600 520.
