Wild Mare Horse Campground sits under a canopy of shore pine, Douglas fir, and huckleberry in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean. Designed specifically for equestrian campers, the facility includes 12 horse corrals, vault toilets, drinking water, trash bins, recycling, and a picnic area. It offers direct access to the Wild Mare Horse Trail #4500, which winds through forest and non-motorized dunes down to the beach. Off-road vehicle zones begin north of Horsfall Beach Road, while Coos Bay, Horsfall Lake, and Bluebill Lake are a short drive away.
