Setting
Wildwood Recreation Site is a 550-acre day-use park set in an old-growth forest of Douglas fir, western hemlock, and red cedar along the Salmon River. The site features the paved 3/4-mile Cascade Streamwatch Trail with an underwater fish viewing window, and the 3/4-mile Wetlands Trail leading to Huckleberry Mountain. Facilities include family picnic units, group shelters, picnic kitchens, athletic fields, and basketball and volleyball courts. Amenities cover flush toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Overnight camping is not offered.
Getting there: Wildwood Recreation Site is located 39 miles east of Portland on Highway 26 near Welches, Oregon.
