Setting
Blue Creek sits on Oologah Lake along the Verdigris River, framed by old-growth post oak and blackjack oak forests. The 30,000-acre lake features over 200 miles of shoreline and is a major local hub for sailing, water skiing, and fishing for bass and catfish. The campground offers spacious electric campsites, an equestrian camping loop, and a 100-person group picnic shelter with power. The 18-mile Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail originates here for hikers and horseback riders, and the Oologah Wildlife Management Area is right next door.
Getting there: From Tulsa, OK, take U.S. Highway 169 north for 23 miles to Highway 88. Turn right and continue for nearly 6 miles. Turn right onto Edgewater Road, then left on Spencer Creek Road. After about a mile turn left onto Blue Creek Road and continue into the campground.
