Setting
Potato Hills South Campground sits on the shore of Sardis Lake in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. The reservoir is fed by Jackfork Creek and is surrounded by more than 8,000 acres of public land dedicated to hunting and wildlife propagation. On-site facilities include boat ramps, a picnic area, and a playground. The expansive lake draws visitors for water sports, boating, and fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and walleye, with nature trails accessible nearby.
Getting there: From US-69, turn south on Indian Nations Turnpike and continue approximately 26 miles. Turn east on State Highway 43 to Sardis Lake Office, and after about 33 miles turn north on State Highway 2 and continue two miles to the campsite.
