Tall Chief Cove sits along the forested lakeshore of Skiatook Lake in northeast Oklahoma, framed by steep bluffs, rolling hills, and oak woods interspersed with tallgrass prairie. The facility features 50 individual campsites equipped with electric hookups, alongside covered picnic tables, restrooms, and showers. On-site amenities include a swim beach, boat ramp, nature trail, playground, volleyball court, basketball court, disc golf course, and horseshoe pits. Anglers fish the lake for bass, crappie, and catfish, while 6,000 surrounding public acres are open for seasonal hunting.
Getting there: From Tulsa, Oklahoma, take Highway 75 north to State Highway 20. Take the Skiatook exit, turn west on State Highway 20 and drive about 15 miles. Turn left on Lake Road and proceed about five miles to the campground.
