Setting
Doris Campground sits along Quanah Parker Lake inside the 60,000-acre Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, a landscape of mixed-grass prairie, granite peaks, and free-roaming bison, longhorn, and elk. The campground offers 23 single-family electric sites, 47 non-electric sites, 20 walk-in tent sites, and 3 group sites along paved roads, accommodates RVs, and provides tables, fire rings, grills, drinking hydrants, a dump station, vault toilets, and a central restroom with flush toilets and showers. Campers enjoy immediate access to fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and the Little Baldy trail.
Getting there: From I-44 take Highway 49 (exit 45). Go west 7 miles to the Refuge gate or 14 miles to the Visitor Center. If coming from Highway 62, take Highway 115 (Cache exit) north to the Refuge Gate.
