Setting
Virgil Point Campground sits along the banks of Hugo Lake in a forested expanse of southeast Oklahoma. The park features 51 spacious campsites situated on grassy terrain above the water, supported by an on-site boat ramp for lake access. The northern portion of the lake consists of flooded timber that provides habitat for bass and crappie, while the open lower lake features limestone rock walls and sandy banks suitable for recreational boating. Over 25,000 acres of surrounding public land offer hunting, wildlife viewing, and access to an archery range in nearby Kiamichi Park.
