Cookson Bend Campground sits along Tenkiller Ferry Lake in the Cookson Hills of the Ozark Mountains, bordered by 200-foot limestone bluffs and oak-hickory forest. The park offers electric and non-electric campsites, flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, a swim beach, a playground, and boat ramps. Reservable group shelters feature electrical hookups, and an adjacent marina provides concessions. The 12,500-acre lake supports scuba diving, water skiing, and fishing for bass, crappie, and catfish, while the tailwater below the dam is stocked with rainbow trout.
Getting there: From Tahlequah, OK go 17.5 miles southeast on Highway 82. Look for sings for Tenkiller and turn right, then go two miles west on the paved access road.
