Setting
Dam Site Recreation Area features two reservable picnic shelters on the shores of Delaware Lake near the dam. Shady Ridge Shelter sits on a grassy ridge, while Elm Grove Shelter features a textured patio with pedestal tables and a group grill 50 feet from parking. Both shelters provide water, electric hookups, playgrounds, a volleyball court, open grassy field space, and restroom access. River fishing is available directly below the dam, and Delaware State Park sits just over a mile away with short hiking trails and stocked fishing ponds.
Getting there: From Delaware, Ohio, head north on US 23 N for 5.4 miles (just beyond Railroad Underpass). Turn right at Delaware Lake Sign.
