Setting
McWilliams Campground is a mountain retreat set in a forest of ponderosa and white pine within the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. The grounds feature single and double-family campsites furnished with picnic tables, outdoor grills, and campfire rings. Facilities include paved roads, paved parking spurs, flush toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. The upper and lower trailheads for the 6.2-mile Bristlecone Trail sit directly above and below the campground, making it a convenient base for hiking and mountain biking, with the 1.3-mile Sawmill Trail located four miles down the road.
Getting there: From Las Vegas, Nevada, take Highway 95 north 29 miles to junction with State Route 156/Lee Canyon. Turn left and travel 19.5 miles to the campground, which is on the right.
