Setting
Santa Barbara Campground sits at 8,900 feet elevation alongside the Rio Santa Barbara in a mixed forest of spruce, fir, and aspen. Bordering the Pecos Wilderness, the layout includes 15 single sites, two double sites, one triple site, and two quad sites, each equipped with fire rings and tables. On-site facilities include potable water from faucets, vault toilets, and trash collection, though no horse facilities are present. The grounds serve as a primary trailhead for hikers and equestrian riders reaching Jicarita Peak and North Truchas Peak.
Getting there: From the junction with State Road 75, follow SR 73 1.4 miles to the Santa Barbara Road. Turn left onto the Santa Barbara Road. Then travel 6.2 miles to the campground. Santa Barbara Road becomes Forest System Road 116 when the pavement ends.
