Setting
Fawn Lakes Campground lies along the Red River in the canyon country of Carson National Forest between Questa and Red River. The facility contains 18 overnight sites, including three tent-only spaces, surrounded by a ponderosa pine forest. Amenities include vault toilets, drinking water, and firewood for purchase. The river runs adjacent to the property, offering direct water access for fishing, with several small lakes nearby and the Columbine Trailhead located within four miles.
Getting there: From Red River, drive approximately 3 miles west on NM-38.
