Setting
Elephant Rock is a forested campground 3 miles west of Red River via NM 38 in Carson National Forest. The site features four vault toilets, potable water, and nearby services within 3 miles of Red River including groceries, gasoline, laundry, showers, and a cafe. Trailer waste disposal is available within 1 mile. Amenities include access to Red River fishing and a hiking trailhead for Columbine within 4 miles. Recreation activities are picnicking, day hiking, and river/stream fishing. Overnight camping costs $30 per single site or $15 for additional vehicle per night. The facility closes seasonally on September 30.
