All 10.5 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly graded dirt, with 2.1 miles of dirt. Climbs 2,900 ft over 10.5 miles -- sustained grades near 14%, with pitches to 41%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~100 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 10 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch.
Secluded here -- the nearest through road is 3.4 miles off. A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. The nearest town, Tesuque, is 9.6 mi off.
