Set among the ponderosa pines and open meadows of the Jemez Mountains, Rio de las Vacas Campground features 15 sites, some sitting directly alongside the Rio de las Vacas stream. Most campsites feature paved RV pads, tent pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground layout includes paved internal roads, vault toilets, trash receptacles, and a resident host. Nearby waters include local streams and the San Gregorio reservoir for fishing, with several trailheads just north of the facility providing access to the scenic, low-grade hikes of the San Pedro Parks Wilderness.
