Situated at 7,880 feet in the Jemez National Recreation Area, Jemez Falls Campground sits among ponderosa pines and open forest meadows near the East Fork Jemez Wild and Scenic River. The facility offers 51 paved campsites that accommodate tents and trailers or RVs up to 40 feet, though no hookups are available. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water spigots, vault toilets, and a resident host. A half-mile trail leads directly from the campground to Jemez Falls, the highest waterfall in the mountain range.
All 2.7 miles in are maintained for passenger-car comfort. Paved the whole way in (2.7 miles). Overhead clearance here is posted at 25 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit.
Redondo Peak stands 3,320 ft above the site, 4.6 miles northeast. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.9 miles off, a 51-site campground. Most of them shaded. McCauley Spring lies 1.2 mi off. The nearest town, Jemez Pueblo, is 16 mi off.
