Setting
Deerhead Campground sits at an elevation of 8,700 feet in the Lincoln National Forest near Cloudcroft. Set in a heavy forest of large pine trees, the campground features paved internal roads and spurs that accommodate both tent and RV camping. On-site amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, grills, water spigots, and vault toilets. The surrounding area provides views of the White Sands National Park salt flats and offers hiking access along the Osha, Little Apache, and Old Cloudcroft Highway trails, with the Trestle Recreation Area located less than two miles away.
Getting there: From the West side of Cloudcroft, turn South onto NM310 and travel 1 mile. The campground entrance will be on your right, just past the turnoff for the Ranger Station.
