Setting
Dolly Copp Picnic Pavilion sits in a forested section of the White Mountain National Forest along the Peabody River. Originally built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and reconstructed in 1996 using historic and harvested timber, the shelter features eight accessible picnic tables, a large stone fireplace, a flagstone floor, and adjacent charcoal grills. The surrounding park grounds offer running water, flush toilets, a dumpster, and a large open field for recreation. A major campground with over 170 sites is located directly across the river.
Getting there: The Dolly Copp Picnic Area is located on NH Route 16 about 5 miles south of Gorham, New Hampshire, and 13 miles north of Jackson, New Hampshire.
