Campground details
Setting
Covered Bridge Campground is situated along the Swift River in a hardwood forest of the White Mountain National Forest, directly adjacent to the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. The campground features sites arranged across two loops, equipped with accessible vault restrooms and a hand pump for drinking water; there are no showers or dump station on site. Campers have immediate access to trout fishing and wading in the river, while the 3-mile Boulder Loop Trail and a short nature trail begin near the grounds. The town of Conway is 6 miles away.
Getting there: From Conway, New Hampshire: Take Kancamagus Highway (State Route 112), 6 miles west, then turn on Dugway Road and proceed into the campground. Vehicles 7'9" or taller are unable to pass through due to height restriction for the covered bridge and must use an alternate route: At traffic light in Conway Village go north on Washington Street, which becomes West Side Road. Proceed approximately 1 mile to Passaconaway Road. Turn west on Passaconaway road and follow for 5 miles to the campground.
- Little separation from through roads or other sites here, a 50-site campground with the nearest through road 0.1 miles off.
- Swift River runs 0.1 mi off.
- Middle Moat Mountain stands 1,958 ft above the map pin, 2.2 miles northeast.
- 5 walk-in sites, with most of them shaded.
