Setting
Basin Campground is a small facility tucked into a mixed hardwood forest in the White Mountain National Forest, located near 23-acre Basin Pond. The camp offers a mix of tent-only and standard sites arranged along a single loop, supported by accessible restrooms and drinking water, though it lacks showers and a dump station. The 4.5-mile Basin Trail originates directly from the campground, giving hikers immediate trail access, while the adjacent calm waters of Basin Pond provide opportunities for canoeing and trout fishing.
Getting there: From Fryeburg, Maine, take Highway 113 north 15 miles to the campground.
