Setting
Bordering the Soldier Creek Wilderness and Fort Robinson State Park, Soldier Creek Campground features eight spacious sites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, with room for RVs and horse trailers. Built for equestrian campers, the site includes a 15-paddock corral system and a round pen, though campers must haul stock water from nearby creeks or the hand pump. Amenities include drinking water from a well pump, vault toilets, and trash cans. The Middle and South Fork Trailheads depart right from the camp.
Getting there: From Crawford, NE take U.S. Highway 20 for 2.5 miles to Fort Robinson, then north on Soldier Creek Road for 6 miles.
