Setting
Hunter Cove Park is a shaded, mostly forested campground sitting on the eastern shore of 13,000-acre Harlan County Lake in south-central Nebraska's mixed-grass prairie. The park offers 150 campsites, split between electric and non-electric options. Facilities include a boat ramp, a fish cleaning station with running water, a volleyball court, and a playground. Two full-service marinas operate nearby at the east end of the lake. Visitors use the park to access boating, fishing for walleye and catfish, hunting, and local hiking trails.
Getting there: From Highway 80, take Highway 183 south to Alma, Nebraska. Turn left onto Highway 136. then turn right on Berrigan Road and travel 1.25 miles to the intersection of Road B. Turn right and travel one mile; the park entrance is on south side of the road.
