Setting
West Ashtabula Crossing Campground sits on 23 wooded acres along Lake Ashtabula in the Sheyenne River Valley. The site features 38 campsites, including 26 with electric hookups, along with a boat launch, dump station, fishing pier, fish cleaning station, and picnic shelter. The surrounding 3,000-acre lake area supports swimming, boating, and fishing for walleye, northern pike, and perch. The North Country National Scenic Trail runs past the site, and the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway is nearby. A swimming beach and restaurant sit less than a mile away.
Getting there: The main route to the park is via Interstate 94 to Valley City exit 292. Follow the signs through Valley City to County Road 21. Travel North for 15 miles.
