Setting
Located on the shores of the 1,475-acre reservoir at W. Kerr Scott Dam, this lakefront park sits in the hardwood-forested foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Yadkin River. The accessible shelter includes six picnic tables, a water spigot, and an outdoor grill. On-site park amenities feature flush toilets, showers, a swim beach, a playground, and a basketball court. Visitors use the site as a base for swimming, paddling, and fishing for largemouth bass, striped bass, and channel catfish.
Getting there: From Charlotte, North Carolina, take I-77 North (approximately 60 miles) before merging onto Highway 421 North towards Wilkesboro/Boone. Continue to Exit 286B (approximately 20 miles), turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 4 miles. Berry Mountain Park will be on the right. From Winston-Salem, North Carolina, take Highway 421 North (approximately 55 miles) to Exit 286B, turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 4 miles. Berry Mountain Park will be on the right.
