Setting
Old John’s River Road Backcountry Camping is a primitive two-site location along the Mountains to Sea Trail near Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Access is by foot via the Boone Fork Trail or Old John’s River Road from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Each site accommodates up to six people and includes a fire ring. The camp has no toilets, trash receptacles, or treated water; campers must pack out trash and treat water from nearby streams. The surrounding area features Julian Price Memorial Park, Price Lake, and Boone Fork Creek.
Getting there: Trailhead Parking is at the Julian Price Memorial Park Picnic Area between mile 296 and 297 on the Blue Ridge Parkway
